Sadanand Borkar was born in farmer family at Nawargaon. Nawargaon belong to Chandrapur district which is remote part of Maharashtra. Since childhood he was fond of art of Drawing and Painting and drama. Therefore despite of his family support Sadanand Borkar went to Nagpur took the education post graduation in Fine art. While educating himself in fine art he established his own identity as great picture artist up to the age of 22 years he drew thousands of paintings with beautiful colors and organized his first exhibition of fine art in Nagpur. Where the people of Nagpur and other people and artist from other city were mesmerized and surprised to see the Sadanand’s fine art. After that he arranged ‘group show’ in other cities of India and sent his art in abroad where he was praised by the people Bhamraghar belongs to Gadchiroli district this area is affected by Naxalites and has been called Tribal area.

In the year 1991 Mr. Sadanand was roaming in this area for Photography. He met Dr. Prakash Baba Amte at Hemalkasa which is remote part of Gadchiroli district. Mr. Sadanand was so influenced by the serial and difficult work of Dr. Prakash Amte that he decided to create different artist and the different identity in the field of art. Very soon, he went to see Gurudeo Rabindranath Togore’s foundation ‘Shantiniketan’. He was so inspired to see Shantiniketan natural atmosphere calm and peace. He made commitment with himself to create and build art of centre like Shantiniketan. He began to feel that his art of centre would create artists from rural area and he became successful to the some extend. In the year 1994, he established college of fine art which is named after Sant Shri Dnyanesh. The special characteristic of the college is here. The education of fine art is given up to the graduation and other special character is Mr. Sadanand running this college without Govt. aid. The college is awarded status of ‘A’ grade.

Another most wonderful quality and character of Sadanand Borkar is he is a great actor and great director of drama. He got legacy from his grandfather Late Shri Balaji Patil Borkar was famous actor and director of Indian social drama. So, Sadanand also played many roles from hundreds of drama. While playing roles he became writer of drama. He wrote many dramas with some cause. He wants to teach and advice to the society. He threw light on bad tradition and superstition of the people of society. His one of the plays became very famous and popular that is “Maza Kunku Meech Pusala!” The Story of the play was on real story. In the year 2001, because of superstition one science teacher died. His wife also is a teacher. She thought that her husband was haunted by the ghost. In spite of going to doctor. She took her husband to so called woman who treats such kind of people who are haunted by the ghost. There that science teacher was badly treated. He was tied to pole at the temperature 48°c.He was shouting for water to drink. But that so called woman neither gave him food nor water for four days and ultimately science teacher died. Science teacher sided because of superstition. This was very bad event which defame the entire human being. Therefore Mr. Sadanand wrote this play “Maza Kunku Meech Pusala!” to eradicate superstition from society. This play became so successful that it broke the record of rush and income than other plays. Today this drama is being brought for the study in new born university “Gondwana” For the M.A. first year.

Another drama written by Mr. Sadanand is “Atmahatya”. This drama was selected for SAARC International festival in the year 2008. At represented India in that festival. All above said resulted in that Mr. Sadanand was honored by outstanding young Indian award in 2009. In the year 2001 Mr. Sadanand was nominated for “Maharashtrian of the year 2011” by Lokmat group of Newspaper.
