Sadanand Borkar was born in farmer family at Nawargaon. Nawargaon belong to Chandrapur district which is remote part of Maharashtra. Since childhood he was fond of art of Drawing and Painting and drama. Therefore despite of his family support Sadanand Borkar went to Nagpur took the education post graduation in Fine art. While educating himself in fine art he established his own identity as great picture artist up to the age of 22 years he drew thousands of paintings with beautiful colors and organized his first exhibition of fine art in Nagpur. Where the people of Nagpur and other people and artist from other city were mesmerized and surprised to see the Sadanand’s fine art. After that he arranged ‘group show’ in other cities of India and sent his art in abroad where he was praised by the people Bhamraghar belongs to Gadchiroli district this area is affected by Naxalites and has been called Tribal area.
In the year 1991 Mr. Sadanand was roaming in this area for Photography. He met Dr. Prakash Baba Amte at Hemalkasa which is remote part of Gadchiroli district. Mr. Sadanand was so influenced by the serial and difficult work of Dr. Prakash Amte that he decided to create different artist and the different identity in the field of art. Very soon, he went to see Gurudeo Rabindranath Togore’s foundation ‘Shantiniketan’. He was so inspired to see Shantiniketan natural atmosphere calm and peace. He made commitment with himself to create and build art of centre like Shantiniketan. He began to feel that his art of centre would create artists from rural area and he became successful to the some extend. In the year 1994, he established college of fine art which is named after Sant Shri Dnyanesh. The special characteristic of the college is here. The education of fine art is given up to the graduation and other special character is Mr. Sadanand running this college without Govt. aid. The college is awarded status of ‘A’ grade.
